Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, has collaborated with TikTok’s most-followed maker Khaby Lame to raise Web3 awareness. The influencer would serve as a worldwide brand representative for the exchange, debunking popular misconceptions about the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries.
Lame rose to popularity on TikTok, where he has over 142 million followers with his videos calling out DIY content producers who make things overly difficult. He performs his popular move of putting both hands up while being entertaining with his comical life hacks that make things much easier.
Lame, a freelance content writer and YouTuber, told Cointelegraph that his signature style will be to dispel misunderstandings surrounding Web3. Lame will provide relatability when Web3 adoption grows, according to James Rothwell, the CEO of Binance.
The Tiktoker said that he has been wanting to learn more about Web3 for a while. Lame said the collaboration with Binance was meant to “perfectly” fit with his typical mission of making complicated things simpler and more enjoyable.
Aside from creating Web3 content and debunking misconceptions, the TikTok star will also create nonfungible token (NFT) collections with Binance in order to increase fan interaction.
After bringing on board a TikTok star, Binance continues to expand its celebrity collaborations. Binance has already worked with legendary football player Cristiano Ronaldo to launch his supporters into the Web3 space through NFTs.
Solana has just released a sneak peek of its Web3 mobile phone plan. The network’s mobile stack for Web3 developers will be available at the same time as the device. The news was met with mixed emotions in the community, ranging from support for the launch to concerns about Solana’s network.
