A collaboration between Opera Crypto Browser, a Web3-focused project for allowing users to easily access decentralized apps (DApps), games, and metaverse platforms, has been announced with Coin98, a Southeast Asian-based DeFi platform.

Users of Opera’s Crypto Browser will be able to access the platform’s range of multichain nonfungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized exchanges (DEXs), cross-chain bridges, and asset swaps, as well as the opportunity to stake and lend their cryptocurrency portfolios, according to a Thursday news release.

The partnership with Southeast Asia’s reputation as an online technology hotspot — with the world’s most users of internet access — and a growing young population and increasingly active crypto community is positioned to bring Opera’s Crypto Browser one step closer to its goal of increasing mass cryptocurrency adoption via the Web.

Opera has been a major player in the cryptocurrency world for some time, and it was the first big browser to support Bitcoin (BTC) payments in 2019. Opera began the Crypto Browser project in January 2022, a Web3-oriented initiative to make it easier to discover DApps, games, and metaverse platforms.

The browser now supports over 30 decentralized apps, including the Bitcoin and Solana (SOL) blockchains, as well as Polygon (MATIC), StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, Nervos Network, and BNB Chain. Opera has linked up with Yat, a service that allows you to create emojified URLs or web addresses.
