If you use Cash App to pay for your order at Shake Shack, you will get rewards in the form of bitcoin.
If you use Cash Card or Cash App’s debit card to pay for your order, you will get 15% of the cost of your order back in bitcoin.
Shake Shack is running a promotion until mid-March that allows customers to pay with crypto. The company is doing this in order to attract younger customers and to see if there is enough demand for this payment option.
Shake Shack does not currently accept cryptocurrency as a payment method. However, the company plans to work more closely with Cash App, which is run by Jack Dorsey from Block Inc. This will likely lead to more people using cryptocurrencies to pay for their food at Shake Shack.
“You’re always trying to place your bets on those things that truly will be meaningful and not waste resources on the ones that won’t,” Livingston said
Dorsey has been a big supporter of bitcoin for a long time. He compared it to the early internet in the summer and said that he hopes it can help create world peace.
People can find the promotion in Cash App under the Cash Boost program.
Shake Shack is getting into the crypto world. They are not the only fast food place to do this. Burger King and McDonald’s have also explored this area.
