The CoinMarketCap team is putting its first-ever conference in the metaverse — with Binance’s founder CZ and MicroStrategy’s CEO Michael Saylor among the cryptocurrency luminaries in attendance.
The Capital 2022 will be hosted virtually on May 26 and 27, and it will explore Web3’s most effective use cases for blockchain adoption, as well as what has worked thus far and what is next.
The two-day immersive experience will focus on decentralized finance, the metaverse, play-to-earn games, and nonfungible tokens. The audience of 5,000 people worldwide will be able to watch it. Changpeng Zhao stated:
“The core theme of The Capital is Time to Ship — one of the major reasons I’m looking forward to speaking at CoinMarketCap’s first ever online conference. This unique metaverse-based event will focus on crypto solutions that are now providing real benefits, not those that will arrive at some unknown point in the future, which is critical to recognize as we support cryptocurrency adoption.”
‘Inspiring the Future Generation’
Samson Mow, who recently left his position at Blockstream to focus on nation-state Bitcoin adoption, will also be speaking at the event. He’s now the CEO of Jan3.
The event will also provide a platform for Web3 start-ups to demonstrate how their solutions have gained traction, as well as offer their top recommendations for accelerating blockchain adoption. Major corporations including The Sandbox, Axie Infinity, and Polygon are expected to be in attendance.
Keynote speeches, fireside chats and virtual hands-on workshops will be available for participants at the event. CoinMarketCap’s CEO Rush said:
“The Capital will feature ideas that illustrate the impact of crypto on global economic, social, and political systems while also inspiring the next generation of crypto users and builders. We hope that participants will not only acquire important insights from thought leaders and builders but also see CoinMarketCap in a new light with the unique and immersive experiences during and after the conference.”
The Capital event was last held in 2019 before the epidemic, with over 80 speakers on stage and over 1,000 visitors in attendance.
In the course of the event, attendees will be able to learn more about how they can use blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies to solve real-world problems. It is planned that the conference will “inform, inspire, and mobilize the broader crypto community.”
