On Tuesday, @BoredApeYC (BAYC) announced that it donated $1 million #Ethereum to Ukraine’s wallet.

The NFT collection’s Twitter account posted the news, along with an Etherscan transaction link indicating that it sent 388.999 ETH (nearly $1 million) in response to its members’ feedback.

NFTs are unique tokens that represent an asset on a blockchain like Ethereum. The Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC) was one of the first collections of NFTs to have a floor price of over 50 ETH.

Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC) is a symbol of culture in the NFT space, with celebrities like Eminem, Steph Curry, Jimmy Fallon and many others adding it to their collections.

At the moment, the BAYC is the second-largest collection of NFTs in the world. This is based on rankings from OpenSea’s marketplace. Over 417,000 ETH ($1 billion) worth of secondary sales have taken place on the BAYC.

After a number of other Web3 communities announced projects and initiatives to help with relief efforts in Ukraine, the BAYC donation was made. These communities include DAOs, memecoin holders, and NFT collectors.

So far, the Ukrainian government has received more than $88 million in cryptocurrency donations. The government has around $7 million in Ethereum, and if you’d like to contribute, here’s the link to the tweet with their main address..
